Roll Call: Present (12): Eugene Schneider, Robert Rogalla, John Walasek, Ronald Kardas, James Robb, Ronald Heikkinen, Richard Schneider, Joseph Rasmussen, Jay Janssen, Robert Kopisch, John Vlach, Richard Kelnhofer. Absent (1): Russell Kapitz.
Approval of meeting minutes of the August 18, 2009 meetings: Motion Kardas/Kelnhofer to approve minutes of the August 18, 2009 meetings as presented. All ayes, motion carried.
Communications and Announcements: None.
Public Comment: Janet Krucky, President of Local 2656 – furlough issues.
1. Update on furlough/layoff program for 2009. Discussion.
2. Establish furlough/layoff program for 2009. Motion Rogalla/Kardas to implement in 2009 five one-day shut downs for union employees, exempting law enforcement union staff which will work out a similar cut in wages, and a one week furlough for non-represented employees, giving the Personnel Committee responsibility to handle any issues that may arise. Motion Rogalla/Kardas to amend the motion to include: No work hour reduction caused by the furlough days may be offset by working extra hours on non-furlough days. Motion to amend carried. Vote on amended motion: motion carried.
