Personnel Committee decided not to move ahead with filling the position
being vacated by Braun on 6/21/02 as per the LCC decision from the May 13,
2002 meeting. Personnel cited reasons
of possible lay offs coming in November depending on the State budget. Personnel said that LCD could hire a temp
or LTE at the summer student rate of $7.90/hr. The $7.90/hr rate would not apply to a hire through a Temp
Agency. Motion by Pohlod/Racette
to contact Nancy Brereton (Smart Growth clerical) to hire thru Temp Agency,
if she is unavailable hire a qualified person thru the Temp Agency
regardless. Salary to be decided by
LCD budget. Motion carried. Lobermeier was not
satisfied with this solution, stating that it is not fixing the true problem. ¨ Adjourn Motion by
DeRemer/Jasurda to adjourn. Motion
carried. Meeting was adjourned at
11:25 a.m. Committee members remained after the meeting to
view the proper culvert installation video and the PowerPoint presentation
used in the Naturalist Series on June 8th. The
next meeting will be on July 8, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. in UWEX conference room C,
Normal Building, Phillips. Recorded
