FISCAL ASSISTANT

 

 Price County is accepting applications for an opening for the position of Fiscal Assistant.  This position is shared by the Health and Human Service Department (60%) and the County Clerk’s office (40%).  Majority of the work requires the individual in the position to independently apply generally accepted accounting principles using established procedures.  Duties include: reviews and verifies current and past accounting information; prepares multiple detailed reports and submits claims that generate county revenues; verifies accounting transactions for accuracy; performs accounts receivable functions including receipting and record maintenance.  Also performs customer service duties while in the Clerk’s Office and backs up receptionist for Health and Human Services Department.  Work requires a high level of computer skills in database and spreadsheet applications.  This is a full-time (37.5 hr/wk), non-exempt position with current wage of $15.22 per hour, less 5% for the first six months of employment.

 

Minimum requirements for this position are:

 

    • Graduation from high school or GED.

    • Minimum of three years office experience with at least two years’ experience working with accounting principles, preferably in a local government environment or:

    • Any combination of education and experience to be equivalent to above listed requirements.

    • Training and experience in Microsoft software programs involving word processing, spreadsheet applications, and basic accounting principles.

    • Must be proficient at 10-key, with a minimum score of 10,500 keystrokes/hr.

    • Ability to work under pressure and/or continual interruptions and to deal with varieties of deadlines.

    • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all staff members and the public

    • Ability to communicate effectively.

    • Must be able to maintain confidentiality

    • Must be able to complete required skills testing at a satisfactory level

    • Must be bondable.

LTE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

 

Price County is accepting applications for an opening for the position of LTE Administrative Assistant – Sheriff’s Department. This is secretarial and administrative position with responsibility for performing definable tasks involving established procedures and involving increasingly difficult technical knowledge of a work area, with the employee expected to vary specific performance of any given task in accordance with the overall goals of the department and clerical policies and procedures as established. Work also extends to performing high-level, skilled clerical, secretarial and technical tasks for a large County department.  This is a casual, on-call position with no guarantee of hours or regular work schedule.  The position wage is $12.36 per hour and is not benefit eligible except for those required by Federal and State law.

 

Minimum requirements for this position are:

 

·         Associate Degree in Administrative Assistant/Secretarial Sciences, Computer Sciences or related field, or any combination of education or experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.

·         Two (2) years secretarial or clerical work experience in a legal, medical, educational or governmental environment.

·         Considerable knowledge and experience in the operation of Windows based computer systems and related software.

·         Ability to keyboard at least 65 wpm with 5 or less errors

·         Proficient in the use of a 10-key calculator with a minimum score of 9,500 keystrokes/hr with at least 95% accuracy.

·         Ability to conform to accepted accounting practices and the ability to perform numerous numerical computations under time constraints.

·         Ability to work in a stressful and fast paced environment.

·         Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

·         Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and the general public.

CERTIFIED SOCIAL WORKER

 

The Price County is accepting applications for the position of Certified Social Worker in the Children & Family Unit of the Department of Health and Human Services.  Major responsibilities include services to families experiencing child welfare and juvenile justice issues and include on-going family based support services to keep families intact or to reunify families who have experienced out-of-home placements.  Position functions are performed in an office, client home and community setting.  Work involves in-home services including family assessments and treatment planning, case management, after-hours on-call services and alternate care services. This is a full time, regular position with competitive wage and benefits package.

 

Minimum qualifications include:

·         Bachelors Degree in social work, sociology, psychology, criminal justice or other approved human services related field;

·         Current certification in the state of Wisconsin as a Social Worker or attainment within 12 months of employment;

·         Two years post degree experience in a human service setting working with target population preferred;

·         Basic Intake Worker Training, completion of CORE or related training preferred; or the ability to complete within 12 months of employment;

·         Experience in eWiSACWIS preferred;

·         The ability to work a flexible schedule and perform after-hours services when needed or scheduled (on-call rotation requires weekend, evening and holiday service);

·         The ability to arrive at local law-enforcement within 30 minutes when performing after-hours on-call services;

·         A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle insured to county-required limits.

DEPUTY SHERIFF

FT and PT Eligibility List

 

Price County is currently recruiting to create an Eligibility List for the position of Deputy Sheriff in the Price County Sheriff’s Department.  Position maintains protection of life and property and the enforcement of criminal Federal, State and County laws and ordinances.  Position involves prevention of adult and juvenile crime, apprehension of law violators and monitoring of traffic.  Work involves assistance to public and other law enforcement agencies and also services as 911 radio dispatcher. These positions have a 2013 starting wage of $18.09 per hour with 12 hour shifts.  This Eligibility List will be used to fill Full Time, Regular and Part Time, Casual openings for the next twelve months.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·    Must be citizens of the United States,

·    18 years of age or older upon appointment

·    Must have a High School Diploma or GED

·    Have a valid Wisconsin driver's license upon appointment

·    Must meet the minimum certification and educational requirements of law enforcement officers as established by the Law Enforcement Standards Board

·    Law Enforcement Standards Board certification required

·    Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

·    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departmental coworkers, management staff and external agencies.

·    Must be able to physically perform all the necessary duties of the position.  Will be required to complete an agility/fitness exam.
