Adult Family Homes
(Certified by Price County Human Services)

Purpose: Adult Family Homes are a community alternative to other living arrangements, and provide supervision and support in a home setting.
Eligibility: Serving all target groups.  Must go through a placement process when Price County Human Services is involved.
Cost: Rate is dependent on care needs.  Several programs will fund this alternative living arrangement, such as COP (Community Options Program), CIP (Community Integration Program), CSLA (Community Support Living Arrangement), and private pay.

CBRF
(Community-Based Residential Facility)

Purpose: To provide assisted living as an alternative to nursing home care for adults in need of supportive services.  24-hour staff available, 3 meals per day provided.
Eligibility: Open to adults who are elderly or physically disabled.
Cost: Varied according to room size and services required.

Purpose: To provide independent apartment living for elderly/disabled people.
Eligibility: 62 years of age or older or on disability.

Rural Services
(formerly Farmers Home Administration)

Purpose: To provide loans and grants for purchase of and repairs of property.  Examples include roof repairs, septic systems, new furnaces, and other weatherization, plumbing, electrical wiring, etc.
Eligibility: Low-income requirement.
Cost:

Free for grants/loans to repair homes.
$28 - $34 credit report’s fee for purchase of home.

Emergency Fuel Assistance
Energy Assistance

Purpose: To provide assistance with heating and electric bills.  A one-time payment per heating season is made.  Emergency energy assistance assists those acquiring help due to shut-off or refusal to deliver.
Eligibility: No age limit.  Income and asset limits.

Homestead Tax Credit

Purpose: To help relieve real estate taxes.
Eligibility:
  • Income limitation (check current tax forms).
  • Renter or owners of homestead occupied.
  • Reside in Wisconsin for the whole calendar year.
  • Must not owe delinquent taxes on homestead.
  • Must not be on general relief.
