AIRPORT COMMITTEE

MEETING MINUTES

Date: December 15, 2010

Time: 3:00 p.m.

Place: Airport Terminal; N1205 Airport Rd, Phillips, WI 

Meeting called to order by Chair Larry Palecek at 3:00 p.m.

Roll Call: Ron Kardas, Larry Palecek, Jim Robb.  Excused: Jay Janssen.  Absent: Joe Rasmussen.  Also present: Chris Hallstrand. 

1.    Approve November 16, 2010 meeting minutes:  Motion Robb/Kardas to approve the minutes of the November 16, 2010 meeting as presented.  Motion carried.

2.    Vouchers; Revenue & Expenditures:  Motion Robb/Kardas to approve vouchers as presented totaling $15,481.66.  Motion carried.

3.    Manager’s report: 

a.    Airport expansion project update.  BOA petition is being updated.  Will require public hearing and County Board resolution.   FAA funding set for 2012.  Next step is acquiring avigation easements. 

b.    Airport operations.  Update by Chris Hallstrand

4.    Resignation of County Employee:   Motion Kardas/Robb to accept the resignation of Gerald Becker.  Motion carried.

5.    Airport Operations Technician – Request to Refill Position:  Motion Robb/Kardas to approve refilling the position of Airport Operations Technician.  Motion carried.

6.    Motion Kardas/Robb at 3:20 p.m. to adjourn to closed session pursuant to the exemptions in Wis. State Statute19.85 (1)(c) for considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility for the purpose of: a. Interview Airport Operations Technician candidates. b. Return to open session. Roll call vote:  Yes (3):  Kardas, Palecek, Robb. No (0).  Motion carried.  Motion Robb/Kardas at 5:05 p.m. in closed session to return to open session.  Roll call vote:  Yes (3):  Kardas, Palecek, Robb. No (0).  Motion carried.

7.    Take Action, as needed, on closed session items:  Motion Kardas/Robb to offer position of Airport Operations Technician to candidate #3 and to candidate #2 if #3 declines.  Motion carried.

8.    Set date and time for next meeting:  January 18, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.

9.    Adjourn:  Motion Robb/Kardas to adjourn meeting at 5:10 p.m. Motion carried.
