Price County Zoning Committee Meeting Minutes of January 13, 2011

 

 

The meeting was called to order at 8:03 a.m. by Chairperson Jim Robb.  Members present were Dick Laws, Bob Rogalla and Ronald Kardas. Richard Schneider was excused.  Staff present included Zoning Administrator Kevin Krause and Assistant Zoning Administrator, Amanda McMeekin.

 

 

1.    Motion by Laws / Kardas to approve the minutes of the October 14, 2010 meeting.  Motion carried.

 

2.    Motion by Kardas / Rogalla to approve the 2010 and 2011 expenditures.  Motion carried.

 

3.    Discussion of Department year-to-date finance report.

 

4.    Public hearings:

 

 

Conditional Use Permit filed by W. Scott and Elizabeth Carpenter for the purpose of renting one home on a weekly basis year round on property located within part of Government Lot 5, Section 4, Township 40N, Range 1W, Town of Lake (W8854 Schnur Lane).  Motion by Rogalla / Kardas to approve.  Motion carried.

 

 

 

 

                 Conditional Use Permit filed by Alan K. Burger for the purpose of operating a camper rental business also consisting of catalog sales of camping, RV, and fishing supplies, electric buggies, hot tubs, and cargo trailers on property located within part of the S1/2, NE1/4 SE1/4, Section 13, Township 37N, Range 1W, Town of Elk (N8646 E. Wilson Flowage Road). Motion by Kardas / Laws to approve.  Motion carried.

 

 

 

 

           Conditional Use Permit filed by Wayne Morey for the purpose of operating a gravel pit on property located within part of the SE1/4 SE1/4, SW1/4 SE1/4, Section 24, Township 37N, Range 2E, Town of Emery. Motion by Rogalla / Kardas to approve.  Motion carried.

 

 

Consideration of a reclamation plan filed by Wayne Morey for a gravel pit on property located within part of the SE1/4 SE1/4, SW1/4 SE1/4, Section 24, Township 37N, Range 2E, Town of Emery. Motion by Rogalla / Laws to approve.  Motion carried.

 

1.    Correspondence/Public Comment.  Ginny Strobl commented on changes to ordinance language relative to conditional use permits.

 

2.Land sale.  Motion by Laws / Kardas to move forward with the land sale with the amended sale prices. Motion carried.

 

3.Motion by Rogalla / Kardas to approve the land division filed by Albert Simpson on behalf of Bonita Salm to create 3 lots located in Government lot 2 and Government lot 9, Section 6, Township 39 North, Range 1 East, Town of Fifield.  Motion carried.

 

4.Motion by Kardas / Laws to approve the land division filed by Jennifer Euclide to create 1 lot located in Section 4, Township 39 North, Range 1 East, Town of Fifield.  Motion carried.

 

5.Proposal to amend ordinance language for conditional uses.  Motion by Robb / Rogalla to postpone indefinitely the recent ordinance amendment regarding conditional uses (originally acted upon by the Zoning Committee at the September 9, 2010 meeting, but was sent back to the Zoning Committee for review after being discussed at the County Board Meeting).  Motion carried.

 

6.Department activity report. Discussion.

 

Establish date and time of next meeting.  Next meeting is tentatively scheduled for March 10, 2011 at 9:00 a.m.  The Committee chair may call a meeting prior to March 10, 2011 if necessary.
