Price County Zoning Committee Meeting Minutes of April 10, 2008Price County Normal Building—UWEX Conference Rooms A & B
The meeting was called to order at 9:08 a.m. by Chairperson Leona DeRemer. Members present were Leona DeRemer, Richard Kelnhofer, Elvis Presley, and Jim Robb. Bob Rogalla was excused. Staffs present included: Zoning Administrator, Kevin Krause and Assistant Zoning Administrator, Amanda McMeekin. Others included: Wayne Schuepke and Tony Blattler.
Motion by Robb / Presley to approve minutes of the March 13, 2008 meeting. All ayes. Motion carried.
Motion by Kelnhofer / Presley to approve expenditures for March 2008. All ayes. Motion carried.
Motion by Presley / Kelnhofer to approve the Finance Report for March 2008. All ayes. Motion carried.
Discussion and/or Action Items
Public Hearings:
Motion by Presley / Kelnhofer to approve the Conditional Use Permit filed by Tony and Judy Blattler for the purpose of operating a fishing guide and canoe rental business on property located within part of Government Lot 5 and Government Lot 1, Section 3, Township 37N, Range 2W, Town of Elk (N9290). Conditions of the permit are as follows:
1. Rental shall be limited to 6 canoes. 2. Clients may conduct business on the site but client pick-up and drop-off shall not be on this parcel. All ayes. Motion carried.
Motion by Presley / Kelnhofer to approve the Conditional Use Permit filed by Chuck Swan for the purpose of operating a short-term rental on property located within part of Government Lot 1, Section 23, Township 36N, Range 1E, Town of Hackett (N6053 Lindow Road). All ayes. Motion carried.
Motion by Kelnhofer / Presley to conditionally approve the Conditional Use Permit filed by Gary D. Kleinhans for the purpose of operating a short-term rental on property located within part of Government Lot 6, Section 19, Township 38N, Range 1W, Town of Flambeau (N10645 River Road). Conditions of approval are as follows:
1. A septic inspection shall be conducted to ensure it is compliant with County and Dept. of Commerce regulations. 2. Occupancy shall be limited to 2 persons per bedroom. All ayes. Motion carried.
Motion by Presley / Kelnhofer to forward to the Price County Board of Supervisors for their consideration of the Public hearing on the proposed amendment to the following county ordinance; Price County Floodplain Ordinance 90-3, Section 1.5, for the addition of the Dam Analysis and Report for the South Fork of the Jump River, dated June 2003 with a recommendation of approval. All ayes. Motion carried.
Land Divisions/CSM Review/Plat Review
Motion by Kelnhofer / Presley to table the Land division filed by Albert Simpson on behalf of Bernard Kubisiak to create 3 lots located in the SW ¼ NE ¼, Section 13, Township 37 North, Range 2 West, Town of Elk. All ayes. Motion carried. DOA approval must be receieved.
MISCELANEOUS ITEMS
1. Correspondence/Public Comment. o All correspondence and public comment was documented in the monthly report.
2. Enforcement action against individuals as follows: o Discussion on Lyle Baars.
3. Motion by Presley / Robb to forward to the Price County Board of Supervisors for their consideration the revised resolution for the Tim Savino rezone with a recommendation of approval. All ayes. Motion carried.
4. Motion by Kelnhofer / Presley to purchase the short-box Ford truck (from bids submitted and reviewed at the March 13, 2008 Zoning Committee meeting) from Phillips Ford through a municipal lease. All ayes. Motion carried.
5. Motion by Presley / Kelnhofer to leave the decision of which one of the existing vehicles to sell and release the bid notice to the Department Head. All ayes. Motion carried.
6. Motion by Presley / DeRemer to forward to the Price County Board of Supervisors for their consideration the resolution to apply for and receive funds under a Lake Protection Grant with a recommendation of approval. All ayes. Motion carried.
7. Motion by Presley / Robb to increase the dollar amount of petty cash for permits to $100. All ayes. Motion carried.
8. Kevin Krause discussed the Staff Report.
9. The next Zoning Committee meeting will be held May 8, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.
