Price County Zoning Committee Meeting Minutes of June 10, 2010
The meeting was called to order at the Nathan Stanke property at the intersection of Springs Road and County Road K in the Town of Emery by Chairman Jim Robb at 8:00 a.m. Members present were Richard Schneider, Dick Laws, Bob Rogalla and Ronald Kardas. Staff present included Zoning Administrator Kevin Krause and Assistant Zoning Administrator Amanda McMeekin.
Chairman Robb recessed the meeting at 8:17 a.m. The meeting reconvened at 9:01 a.m. at the County Board Room in the Price County Courthouse.
1. Motion by Laws / Schneider to approve the minutes of the May 13, 2010 meeting. Motion carried.
2. Motion by Schneider / Laws to approve the monthly vouchers. Motion carried.
3. Discussion of the Finance Report.
4. Public hearings:
-------- Conditional Use Permit filed by James Gabay for the purpose of renting one cabin on a weekly basis year round on property located within part of the SE ¼ SW ¼, Section 21, Township 38N, Range 1E, Town of Worcester (N10519 E. Solberg Lake Road). Motion by Schneider / Rogalla to approve. Motion carried.
Special Exception Permit filed by Kyle and Karen Graf for the purpose of building a barn 40 feet from the centerline of Pine Creek Road on property located in the SE1/4 SE1/4, Section 30, Township 40N, Range 2W, Town of Lake (N14947 Pine Creek Road). Motion by Rogalla / Laws to approve. Motion carried.
-------- Conditional Use Permit filed by Peter Simon for the purpose of renting a home on a weekly basis year round on property located at Lot 25 of the Pixley East Shores Subdivision, Section 4, Township 39N, Range 1W, Town of Lake (N14415 Pixley Shores Road). Motion by Rogalla / Laws to approve. Motion carried.
1. Correspondence/Public Comment. In Monthly report.
2. Motion by Schneider / Laws to approve the Nathan Stanke conditional use permit request. Motion carried. Conditions of approval include: a. Provisions of Section 14 of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance must be adhered to. b. A September 1, 2010 deadline is established for the fence to be completed.
3. Proposed revisions to the comprehensive zoning ordinance section 17 (conditional uses). Motion by Rogalla / Laws to postpone until the next meeting so Tracy Ellis can give the Zoning Department recommendations on financial assurance requirements and Kevin can develop language on short-term rentals. Motion carried.
4. Fee schedule revision to reflect increase of recording fees. Motion by Robb / Laws to forward to the full County Board for their consideration a table reflecting an increase in Zoning fees due to the increase in recording fees required by the Register of Deeds. Motion carried.
5. Motion by Schneider / Rogalla to approve the land division filed by Nancy Valiga to create one lot located in the NW ¼ NW ¼, Section 4, Township 38 North, Range 1 West, Town of Flambeau. Motion carried.
6.Department activity report. No questions on report as presented.
7. Adjourn to closed session as provided by Chapter 19.85(g) Wis. Stats. for the purpose of conferring with legal counsel who is rendering oral or written advice concerning strategy to be adopted with respect to litigation in which the Zoning Committee is or is likely to become involved regarding the Barbara Richter Conditional Use Permit. No closed session - no action taken.
8. Establish date and time of next meeting. Next meeting is tentatively scheduled for July 8, 2010 at 8:00 a.m.
