Price County Zoning Committee Meeting Minutes of June 11, 2009

Price County Normal Building—UWEX Conference Rooms A & B

 

The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Jim Robb.  Members present were Richard Schneider, Richard Kelnhofer, Bob Rogalla and John Vlach. Staff present included Zoning Administrator, Kevin Krause.  Others in attendance were Russell Severt, Tom Kiesgen, Tom Burch, Gary Graham, Eric Kellesvig, Danette Schutte, Elsie Statz, Jerid Baranczyk, Norman Gilge, Tina Gilge, Frank Sevcik, Nancy Sevcik, Vern Moore, Bill Knaack, and Gerald Hetzel.

 

Motion by Schneider / Kelnhofer to approve the minutes of the May 14, 2009 meeting.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Kelnhofer / Schneider to approve the expenditures for May 2009.  Motion carried.

 

The 2009 year-to-day finance report was presented to the Zoning Committee for review. 

 

Public Hearings:

 

Conditional Use permit filed by American Asphalt of Wisconsin, Mosinee, WI to operate a temporary asphalt plant on property owned by James Peterson & Sons, Inc., described as the SE ¼ SE ¼, Section 4, Township 35 North, Range 1 East, Town of Prentice.  Motion by Schneider / Kelnhofer to approve with conditions.  Motion carried.  Conditions are as follows:

1.      Permit expires 12/1/09

2.      Hour of operation shall be limited to 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

 

Conditional Use Permit filed by Norman and Curtina Gilge to operate a RV camping resort on property described as part of Government Lot 5 and the SE1/4 SE1/4, Section 12, Township 37 North, Range 2 West, Town of Elk.  (N8955 S. Soo Lake Road – Brumley’s Resort).  Motion by Vlach / Schneider to approve with conditions.  Motion carried.  Conditions are as follows:

1.      All state and county regulations shall be adhered to.

 

Conditional Use Permit filed by Mike Statz to operate a bait and tackle convenience store on property described as Unit 1 of the Statz Estates Condominum, Section 26, Township 40 North, Range 3 East, Town of Fifield.  (W770 Windsong Lane – Moose Jaw Lodge & Resort).  Motion by Rogalla / Vlach to approve.  Motion carried.

 

Conditional Use Permit filed by Gary Graham to reopen a tavern (a portion of which will remain a home) on property described as part of Government Lot 5, Section 19, Township 39 North, Range 1 East, Town of Fifield.  (N13246 State Road 13).  Motion by Schneider / Kelnhofer to approve with conditions.  Motion carried.  Conditions are as follows:

1.  All state and county regulations shall be adhered to.

 

Consideration of a reclamation plan filed by Granberg Bros. for a gravel pit on property located within part of the SW1/4 NE1/4 Section 9, Township 35N, Range 1E, Town of Prentice.  Motion by Schneider / Vlach to approve.  Motion carried.

 

 

LAND DIVISIONS

 

There were no land division requests.

 

MISCELANEOUS ITEMS

 

1.         Correspondence/Public Comment.  Several individuals presented comment.

2.         Discussion of enforcement action against individuals as follows:

·         Joe France

        Kevin gave a report about the deposition hearing conducted several weeks ago with Mr. France and his attorney.

3.         Request by Anthony Bondioli to refund Land Use application fee.  Motion by Kelnhofer / Rogalla to refund $123.20.  Motion carried.

4.         Proposed revisions to the Price County Land Sale Ordinance.  Kevin informed the Committee of several wording problems with the land sale ordinance and the need to revise the ordinance.

5.         Staff Report.  Kevin presented his monthly report.

6.         Establish date and time of next meeting.  July 9th or July 16th (depending upon the availability of the county board chairman)

7.         Adjourn.  Motion by Kelnhofer / Schneider to adjourn at 10:10 a.m.  Motion carried.
