Price County Zoning Committee Meeting Minutes of June 12, 2008Price County Normal Building—UWEX Conference Rooms A & B
The meeting was called to order at 2:04 p.m. by Chairperson Jim Robb. Members present were Richard Schneider, John Vlach, Bob Rogalla and Jim Robb. Richard Kelnhofer was excused. Staffs present included: Zoning Administrator, Kevin Krause and Assistant Zoning Administrator, Amanda McMeekin. Others included: Tom Kiesgen
Motion by Rogalla / Vlach to approve minutes of the May 8, 2008 meeting. All ayes. Motion carried.
Motion by Schneider / Rogalla to approve the expenditures and Finance Report for May 2008. All ayes. Motion carried.
Discussion and/or Action Items
Public Hearings:
Motion by Rogalla / Schneider to approve the Special Exception permit filed by Bob Krause for the purpose of building with the following reduced setbacks; front yard setback of 20’ from the right of way, 5’ from the side yard lot lines, and 15’ from the rear yard lot line located within the Hintz Addition Lot 13 Block 6, Section 6, Township 39N, Range 1E, Town of Fifield. All ayes. Motion carried.
Motion by Schneider / Rogalla to approve the Conditional Use Permit filed by Jerome Wartgow for the purpose of building a waterfront storage structure on property located within part of Government Lot 4, Section 17, Township 40N, Range 1W, Town of Lake (W9115 Safe Harbor Road) with the condition that the existing shoreland view corridor remains at 30’ wide. All ayes. Motion carried.
Land Divisions/CSM Review/Plat Review
Motion by Vlach / Rogalla to approve the Land division filed by Maria Patterson and Thomas Schuelke to create 2 lots located in the Original Plat of Fifield, Section 7, Township 39 North, Range 1 West, Town of Fifield. All ayes. Motion carried.
MISCELANEOUS ITEMS
1. Correspondence/Public Comment. o Correspondence and public comment is in the Monthly Report.
2. Discussion of enforcement action against individuals as follows: · Joe France o Corp. Counsel is completing the paperwork to be filed with the court system.
· Lorenzo Thompson o Case went to jury trial and was found guilty on 3 of the 4 charges. Must pay citations, apply for all necessary permits, and restore the buffer.
· Corey Brockman o To be served citations as he is refusing letters sent by Kevin Krause.
· Lyle Baars o Site assessment conducted on June 5, 2008 by Violia on a court order to determine the cost of clean up of property.
· Greg Kellenberger o Kevin Krause gave a report.
3. Resolution from Florence County regarding the amendment to the Federal Water Pollution Control Act. o Item is to be kept on the agenda for future discussion.
4. Department staff work schedule. o Motion by Schneider / Vlach to send to personnel for review of any agreement/documentation to allow the AZA flexibility in her work schedule so long as it’s mutually agreed upon. All ayes. Motion carried.
5. Motion by Rogalla / Vlach to forward to the Price County Board of Supervisors for their consideration the Petition for Zoning Ordinance Amendment filed by the Town of Worcester in regards to a change of fees with a recommendation of approval. All ayes. Motion carried.
6. Motion by Vlach / Rogalla to conduct a public hearing at the July 10, 2008 Price County Zoning Committee meeting for the revision of Price County Ord. 4-97 Regulating the Height of Structures and Trees in the Vicinity of the Price County Airport. All ayes. Motion carried.
Motion by Rogalla / Vlach at 3:12 p.m. to adjourn to Closed Session pursuant to Chapter 19.85 (1)(e) for the purpose of deliberating or negotiating the purchasing of public property, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session.

7. Take action on closed session item. o Motion by Rogalla / Schneider to approve a final counter offer of $125,000 for both lots with no further subdividing to occur upon the two parcels. All ayes. Motion carried.
