Price County Zoning Committee Meeting Minutes of July 8, 2010

 

 

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m. by Chairperson Jim Robb.  Members present were, Dick Laws, Bob Rogalla and Ronald Kardas. Richard Schneider was excused.  Staff present included Zoning Administrator Kevin Krause and Assistant Zoning Administrator, Amanda McMeekin.

 

 

1.      Motion by Laws / Rogalla to approve the minutes of the June 10, 2010 meeting.  Motion carried.

 

2.      Motion by Rogalla / Laws to approve the monthly vouchers.  Motion carried.

 

3.      Discussion of Department year-to-date finance report.

 

4.      Public hearings:

 

 

------------ Conditional Use Permit filed by American Asphalt of Wisconsin, Mosinee, WI to operate a temporary asphalt plant on property owned by James Peterson & Sons, Inc., described as the SE ¼ SE ¼, Section 4, Township 35 North, Range 1 East, Town of Prentice.  Motion by Rogalla / Laws to approve with conditions.  Motion carried.  Conditions of approval are as follows:

1.      Hours of operation are 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday thru Friday and 6 a.m. – noon Saturday.

2.      The permit shall expire 12/31/2012.

 

 

 

                 Conditional Use Permit filed by Frederick C. Krenzke for the purpose of renting one cabin on a weekly basis year round on property located within part of the NW ¼ SE ¼ and SW ¼ NE ¼, Section 21, Township 38N, Range 1E, Town of Worcester (N10639 E. Solberg Lake Road).  Motion by Laws / Rogalla to approve.  Motion carried.

 

 

 

                  Conditional Use Permit filed by Jeff Kempkes for the purpose of operating a mini-storage business on property owned by Karl W. and Andrea L. Von Seggern.  The 13.02 acre parcel is located within part of Government Lot 6 and part of the NE ¼ SE ¼, Section 13, Township 37N, Range 1W, Town of Elk.  Motion by Laws / Kardas to approve with conditions.  Motion carried.  Conditions of approval are as follows:

 

1.      One building with a maximum of 24 units may be built.

 

 

 

1.      Correspondence/Public Comment.  Russell Severt requested to be put on next months agenda. Vern Moore requested junk/salvage yard definitions to be placed on next months agenda.

 

2.      Proposed revisions to the comprehensive zoning ordinance section 17 (conditional uses).   Motion by Laws / Rogalla to send amended revisions of Section 17 (removal of 17.4 and adding financial assurance) to public hearingMotion carried.

 

 

3.Department activity report.  Discussion.

 

4.2011 Budget.  Motion by Laws / Rogalla to approve the 2011 budget as amended and forward to Executive Finance.  Motion carried.

 

5.      Adjourn to closed session as provided by Chapter 19.85(g) Wis. Stats. for the purpose of conferring with legal counsel who is rendering oral or written advice concerning strategy to be adopted with respect to litigation in which the Zoning Committee is or is likely to become involved regarding the Barbara Richter Conditional Use Permit.   No closed session as legal counsel was not available.

 

6.       Establish date and time of next meeting.  Next meeting is tentatively scheduled for August 12, 2010 at 8:00 a.m.

 

7.   Adjourn.  Motion by Rogalla / Laws to adjourn at 9:28 a.m.     Motion carried.
