Price County Zoning Committee Meeting Minutes of September 11, 2008Price County Normal Building—UWEX Conference Rooms A & B
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairperson Jim Robb. Members present were Richard Schneider, John Vlach, Richard Kelnhofer, Bob Rogalla and Jim Robb. Staffs present included: Assistant Zoning Administrator, Amanda McMeekin and Program Assistant, Christina Hallstrand. Others included: Julie Wolski, Helen Morris, Barb Richter, Joe Durand, Mark Bjork, Mary Lou Kolnik , Vern Moore and Russell Severt.
Motion by Kelnhofer / Rogalla to approve minutes of the August 14, 2008 meeting. All ayes. Motion carried.
Motion by Rogalla / Schneider to approve expenditures for August 2008. All ayes. Motion carried.
The Finance Report for August 2008 was reviewed, no action taken as it is not required for a report.
Discussion and/or Action Items
Public Hearings:
Motion by Rogalla / Vlach to approve the Special Exception permit filed by Terry L. Cameron for the purpose of building a garage approximately 31’ from the centerline of Snowshoe Drive in order to meet the 75’ shoreland setback on property located within part of Government Lot 3, Section 13, Township 37N, Range 1W, Town of Elk (N8670 Snowshoe Drive). All ayes. Motion carried.
Motion by Vlach / Kelnhofer to postpone the Conditional Use Permit filed by Barbara J. Richter of Durand Companies for the purpose of operating a collection station for recycling on property located within part of the N1/2 of the SE1/4, Section 36, Township 39N, Range 1W, Town of Fifield (N12281 State Road 13) until the next Zoning Committee meeting at which it is requested that the Town of Fifield provide in writing a statement that they either approve or do not approve of this use of the property All ayes. Motion carried.
LAND DIVISIONS
Motion by Kelnhofer / Rogalla to approve the land division filed by Land division filed by Patrick Beil on behalf of Kelly Motto to create one (1) lot located in Government Lot 1, Section 22, Township 40 North, Range 2 West, Town of Lake. All ayes. Motion carried.
Motion by Vlach / Schneider to approve the land division filed by the Wisconsin DNR to create one (1) lot located in the SE ¼ NE ¼, Section 2, Township 35 North, Range 1 East, Town of Prentice. All ayes. Motion carried.
MISCELANEOUS ITEMS
1. Correspondence/Public Comment. o All correspondence and public comment is in the Monthly Report.
2. Motion by Rogalla / Vlach to postpone the Resolution from Florence County regarding the amendment to the Federal Water Pollution Control Act until the next Zoning Committee meeting. All ayes. Motion carried.
3. Comprehensive Planning o Bob Kopisch provided a letter from the Wisconsin Legislative Council regarding comprehensive planning. o Vern Moore spoke and provided information on the issue. o The Committee would like it to be put on the agenda for next month so they may gather more information on the subject.
4. 2009 Zoning Budget o Motion by Schneider / Kelnhofer to send the 2009 Budget to the Executive/Finance Committee on September 18, 2008 and have Kevin Krause attend the meeting to answer any questions. All ayes. Motion carried.
5. Contract with Century 21 Hilgart Realty to list County owned lots. o Motion by Kelnhofer / Rogalla to extend the Century 21 Hilgart Realty contract for 6 months, with an expiration of March 1, 2009, on the condition that Leanna Arnoldi (Asst. Corporation Counsel) finds no problem with the extension as it relates to contract language. All ayes. Motion carried.
6. Staff Report. o In monthly report.
7. The next meeting is to be held on October 9, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.
