All mothers of newborns are offered an opportunity to have a home visit by a county nurse. Infants identified as high risk, based on an agency classification system, are seen by Public Health Nurses specifically trained and experienced in maternal child health. Case management services are provided, if necessary. Assessment of the mother and infant take place, along with well baby care and health education.
