Elderly & Disabled Transportation

Self-Pay / Elderly or Disabled Consumers

Persons age 60 or older, or disabled individuals of any age. Consumers will be allowed up to 3 scheduled trips per week, provided a driver is available and other sources of transportation such as family and friends are not available. Priority is given to those requesting rides to medical appointments or to work. Other types of trips may be considered on a case-by-case basis. The fee for this service is $0.35 per mile, round-trip, or a $4.00 minimum trip charge.


Non-Medical Transportation

 Shopping / Errand Service

This service is provided to consumers age 60 or older, or disabled individuals of any age to shop and do errands (example: grocery store, bank, laundry, lawyer/business affairs, etc.) in their own local areas. The fee for this service is $4.00. The different services are:

Phillips Shopping / Errand Service: If you are within a 5 mile radius of downtown Park Falls, the BART Bus is available for your transportation needs - 1-844-682-9664. If you live outside of this area and need to shop or do errands, please call us at 715-339-5240 for additional information.

Assisted Shopping Service: If you cannot shop independently, our volunteer drivers can assist you in the store or even do your shopping for you while you remain in the comforts of home; fee for assisted shopping is $10.00


How to Sign Up

Call 715-339-5240 to make arrangements for transportation. Leave a message on the machine with your name and phone number as well as the date, time and place of your appointment. Call at least 2 business days before your scheduled appointment whenever possible. You and your doctor or medical provider will need to sign a slip to verify your medical appointment.

Medical Assistance Consumers

Transportation to medical appointments is provided to Medical Assistance recipients through a statewide transportation broker, Veyo. To access this service, call Veyo at 866-907-1493. Veteran Transportation

Transportation for Veterans originates at the Price County Veteran’s Service Office (CVSO). If you are a Veteran, contact the CVSO at 715-339-2545 to find out if you qualify. Veterans will be allowed up to 3 scheduled trips per week provided a driver is available and other sources of transportation such as family and friends are not available. Fees are based on the Price County Veteran’s Service Office rules and regulations.


Stops

Only authorized destinations and stops will be observed. Medical trips for elderly and disabled consumers have first priority. Drivers are not responsible for lifting and/or assisting physically impaired individuals, etc. The driver’s primary duty is driving consumers to and from medical appointments. Individuals in need of a specialized vehicle equipped with a wheelchair lift can be transported by another entity under an agreement with Price County Senior Services.


B.A.R.T. Bus

Additional Information

All requests for rides must be made to Price County Senior Services. Do not call volunteer drivers directly. Requests must be made at least 2 days prior to any needed service. We will do our best to accommodate transportation requests on short notice; however, if drivers are not available we have no ability or responsibility to provide transportation.
