Payment for all papers is due in advance unless prior arrangements have been made. Please contact the Price County Sheriff's Office by phone at 715-339-3011 Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. to discuss payment arrangements.

In the case of the same individual needing to be served in different cases, there is a $65 fee for each case. For example, if you need to serve the same individual on two separate court cases, the total fee would be $130 for service of both sets of documents.Civil Process

Papers for service can be mailed to the Price County Sheriff's Office, Attn: Civil Process, PO Box B, Phillips, WI 54555 or delivered in person to the Price County Sheriff's Office, 164 Cherry Street, Phillips. In some cases, faxed copies may be accepted for service. Please contact the Price County Sheriff's Office at 715-339-3011 to discuss whether a faxed copy may be accepted for service.Civil Process

Sheriff's Sales are conducted every Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. and are called consecutively until all scheduled sales for that day are complete.Civil Process

Successful bidders are required to have 10% of their bid in cash, money order or certified check at the time of sale . Be sure to check the actual Notice of Sale as some do not permit money orders or certified checks. Checks should be made payable to the Price County Clerk of Circuit Court. The successful bidder may also be responsible for the Real Estate Transfer Fee. Be sure to check the Notice of Sale. If the notice states the buyer is responsible for the transfer fee, this fee must also be paid at the time of sale. Personal checks are accepted for the Real Estate Transfer Fee only.Civil Process

Once the property is sold, the Court will hold a Confirmation of Sale hearing at a later date. Successful bidders may contact the Clerk of Circuit Court at 715-339-2353 to determine when the Confirmation of Sale hearing date is scheduled. Bidders may also check the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access Consolidated Court Automation Program (CCAP) via the internet. If the court confirms the sale, the successful bidder must pay the balance of the bid within the specified time period set forth in the terms and conditions of the Notice of Foreclosure Sale (usually 10 days) or the successful bidder forfeits their deposit. After the Court's Confirmation of Sale, the successful bidder takes possession of the property and becomes the new owner.Civil Process

If the defendant in the Mortgage Foreclosure action occupies the property, and the new owner wishes to remove them, the new owner must obtain a Writ of Assistance which will allow the Sheriff's Office to remove the parties.Civil Process
