When To Report An Accident

  • Any accident must be reported when it results in:
    • Injury or death of a person.
    • $1,000 or more total damage to property owned by any one person.
    • Damages of $200 or more to government property (except motor vehicles).

  • All accidents should be reported immediately or as soon as practicable.

  • Minor accidents should be reported to the Price County Sheriff's Office at 715-339-3011. Any accident involving personal injury or road blockage should be reported by calling 9-1-1.

  • If your accident is not reportable by police, you will need to complete a Wisconsin Driver Report of Accident form here. This form is most commonly used to report deer hit accidents.

  • You can obtain an official copy of your driver record from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation DMV. There is a $5 fee for each record requested.

  • You can request a copy of an accident report from the Sheriff's Office here. You may also purchase one through the Wisconsin Department of Transportation
