- Possession of, or attempting to obtain contraband is prohibited.
- No inmate shall make or possess an instrument which could be used as a weapon or as a tool for escape.
- Inmates are allowed to possess only those items purchased through canteen, provided by the Price County Jail, or allowed through the mail.
- Possession of tobacco and smoking materials, including lighters and matches, is prohibited.
- Possession or consumption of alcohol, illegal drugs or any substance used to create an intoxicating effect is prohibited.
- Cell phones are prohibited.
- All contraband items, including smoking materials, lighters, and matches, will be confiscated and thrown away or retained as evidence by Jail staff.
- Jail property, Jail issued property or personal property may not be altered or re-purposed for any use other than originally intended.

- Fighting or assaultive behavior is prohibited.
- Threats to staff or others are prohibited.
- Sexual misconduct; including, but not limited to the following, are prohibited:
- Engaging in or proposing sexual acts.
- Sexual assault or threat of sexual assault.
- Sexual harassment.
- Indecent exposure.
- Use of abusive or disrespectful words or gestures towards staff or others is prohibited.
- Horseplay is prohibited.
- Theft and/or possession of another's personal or Jail issued property is prohibited.
- Making a false statement to a staff member is prohibited.
- Kangaroo or inmate courts are prohibited.
- Theft, destruction, damage, defacement or misuse of Price County Jail property, including clothing, is prohibited.
- Failure to obey a lawful order or directive from a Jail staff member is prohibited.
- Transfer of Jail issued property, personal property, money, Jail meal items, phone cards or commissary items between inmates is prohibited.
- Gambling is prohibited.
- Talking or yelling between cell blocks or individual cells is prohibited.
- Talking or yelling to individuals outside the building is prohibited.
- No inmate is allowed inside an individual cell or on the bunk of another inmate for any reason.
- Loud or disorderly behavior is prohibited.
- The throwing of litter or other items is prohibited.
- Group demonstrations, rioting or inciting to riot is prohibited.
- The signing of petitions or group grievances or inciting other inmates to violate Jail rules is prohibited.
- Knocking on cell block doors or walls is prohibited unless as an attempt to notify Jail staff in the event of an emergency.
- Inmates may not communicate with inmates housed in another cell block or with Price County inmates housed in other facilities by mail, note or third party.

Inmates who commit a rule violation are subject to discipline. Discipline may include loss of privileges, loss of good time and/or placement in punitive segregation.
Major Rule Violations
- Inmates who commit a major rule violation may be placed in administrative segregation.
- Inmates placed in administrative segregation are not permitted to bring any personal or Jail issued property with them other than a blanket and Bible/religious book.
- If an inmate's violation is considered a crime according to Wisconsin State Statutes, charges may be forwarded to the District Attorney.
- All inmates being held for a major rule violation will be advised of their rights to a hearing.
- Inmates have the right to waive their hearing rights.
- Inmates will be notified of a decision and any disciplinary action. Inmates may appeal the decision and disciplinary action to the Chief Deputy and finally to the Sheriff.
Minor Rule Violations
- Inmates who commit a minor rule violation will be notified of the violation and any disciplinary decision made by on duty staff.
- Minor rule violations will be tallied and can lead to a major rule violation.
- Inmates may fill out a grievance form to appeal the minor rule violation and disciplinary decision.

- This form can be used to appeal a rule violation and disciplinary decision.
- This form can also be used to make a special request to the Jail Administrator or Sheriff. A special request is a request that is not outlined on the green Request Slip that is located in each cell block and is a request that needs to be approved by administrative staff.

- The Price County Jail allows all inmates the opportunity, on a voluntary basis, to practice their religion to the extent it is practicable and reasonable.
- Attendance in all Jail programs is voluntary.
- Disorderly and disrespectful behavior during Jail programming is prohibited and will result in an inmate's removal from future programs.
- Inmates are not permitted to take personal items to Jail programs.
- Inmates are required to remain quiet and orderly on the way to and from programs.
- Jail staff may prevent an inmate from attending programs for security or disciplinary reasons.
- The Price County Jail provides onsite educational instruction and alcohol/drug abuse counseling.
- Educational Services are held on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
- Alcohol and drug abuse counseling is provided by local Alcoholic Anonymous counselors. These meetings are held on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m.
- Request forms for all programs and weekly religious services must be submitted at the request collection time prior to the start of the program.
- Maximum Security inmates are not allowed to attend programming or religious services unless special approval is given by the Jail Administrator or Sheriff.
- Jail programs and religious services are privileges and inmates may lose these privileges if they violate Jail rules.
- The Price County Jail Chaplain Program is a multi-denominational group comprised of local religious officials.
- Weekly religious services are provided on a rotating basis by the Chaplain Program to better facilitate inmate faith diversity.
- The Jail Library also contains religious materials for faiths that may not be represented in the local community.
- All programs and religious services are subject to time change or cancellation due to volunteer and staff availability.

Privileges are dependent upon inmate classification and are subject to removal for any Jail rule violation. Television
- Televisions may be turned on at lights on and will be turned off at lights out/lockdown.
- Television volume will remain low enough so that it does not interfere with the orderly operation of the jail.
- Inmates may not turn on the television after lights out or lockdown for any reason.
- The remote control for the television shall remain in the common area of the dayroom. Any fighting over the remote or abuse to the remote will result in loss of television privileges.
Telephone
- Inmates will be allowed telephone access after the completion of the booking process to contact an attorney or notify family.
- Personal calls may be made daily from the cell block dayroom. Calls from cell blocks can be made collect, by use of a calling card purchased through the Jail, or by use of a prepaid account set up through CIDNET.
- There is a fifteen minute limit per phone call.
- Phones will be turned on at 9:00 a.m. and turned off at 9:00 p.m.
- Third party calling is prohibited.
- Instructions for operation and rules are posted in each cell block and must be followed or phone privileges will be cancelled.
- Phone cards may be ordered on Wednesdays and Sundays and will be delivered on Thursday and Monday. This schedule is subject to change without notice.
- Phone cards are available in $5, $10, $15, $20 and $50 denominations. There is a $50 maximum order limit.
- A Friends and Family Telephone Service Guide for CIDNET is available upon request.
Visitation
- Visits will be limited to immediate family only. Immediate family includes:
- Spouse
- Parents
- Adult Children
- Grandparents
- Adult Siblings
- In-Laws
- Step-Family
- Visiting hours are on Sundays and Holidays from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visits are allowed either Sunday or Wednesday. A visitor may visit once in any given week excluding holiday visits.
- Visits will be limited to 15 minutes per visit.
- All visitors will be required to produce identification and sign the register.
- Persons under the age of 18 will not be permitted to visit.
- Inmates and visitors will not be allowed to eat, drink or use any tobacco products in the visitation area.
- No former inmate of the Price County Jail will be allowed to visit any person within this facility for 90 days after release.
- Number of persons per visit is restricted by staff.
- A visit will be terminated if an inmate or visitor engages in inappropriate behavior.
- Inmates will exit the visitation area promptly when notified by Jail staff that the visit is terminated.
- Any violation of the above regulations will result in the immediate suspension of the visit, and the visitor may not be allowed future opportunities to visit an inmate in the Price County Jail.
- An inmate in lockdown status during scheduled visitation will forfeit that visit.
- Request for exceptions to the rules for visitation must be submitted in writing to the Sheriff for approval.
- Professional visits may take place outside regular visitation hours. Professional visitors should contact the Jail to schedule an appointment.
Canteen
- Canteen orders shall be submitted on Sunday and will be delivered on Tuesday or Wednesday unless otherwise indicated by Jail staff.
- Inmates may purchase items specified on the Canteen Order Form if they have available funds in their Trust Account.
- Inmates may not purchase canteen items for other inmates.
- Inmates may not share or give away canteen items.
- Inmates are limited to ordering 24 food items per order with a maximum of 2 of each item.
- Inmates are allowed to possess no more than:
- Powdered Drinks: 1 of each item in category in possession.
- Chips, Candy and Snacks: 24 items with a maximum of 2 each of the same item.
- Hygiene Items: 1 of each product category in possession, i.e. 1 soap, 1 shampoo, etc.
- Miscellaneous: 1 of each category in possession. Exceptions are:
- Stamped Envelopes - 12
- Folders - 2
- Legal pads - 2
- The Jail reserves the right to cancel a canteen order or remove any canteen items in an inmate's possession for Jail rule violations.
- Canteen items from other correctional facilities that are not listed on the Price County Jail Canteen Order Form will not be allowed. All unwrapped canteen items will be placed in the inmate's property bin.
Library
- Library visits will be conducted for each cell block as follows:
- Monday - Three-man cell block
- Tuesday - None
- Wednesday - Lower two-man cell block
- Thursday - Upper two-man cell block
- Friday - Six-man cell block
- Saturday - Five-man cell block
- Sunday - Four-man cell blockThis schedule is subject to change and may be altered due to staff availability, professional visitation schedule changes, and Jail emergencies.
- Request slips for library visits should be put in no later than 5:00 p.m. on the day of the Library visitation.
- Inmates are limited to 6 books, magazines, newspapers, etc. at any one time. The Bible, religious books and legal books are included in the limit listed above. Formal education books are not counted in this limit.
- Inmates are limited to 1 board game, puzzle or card game (i.e. Uno); also 1 regular deck of playing cards is allowed in addition to the previous items.
- All games must be kept in the same condition in which they were received. Game pieces, cards, etc. should not be switched or removed.
- Inmates may not rip out pages from Jail books or magazines; doing so may result in the loss of Library privileges.
- Inmates may not write on, or deface any Jail Library items.
- Inmates who engage in disorderly, reckless and/or dangerous behavior will be removed from the Library and will be subject to further discipline.
- Inmates and their Library items are subject to inspection.
- Inmates may order books and/or magazine/newspaper subscriptions from vendors only. No dropped off library material will be accepted.
- The Library has the newest State Statute books and a computer with updated legal software.

Huber work release and the Electronic Monitoring Program (EMP) are privileges and may be revoked for Huber/EMP rule violations, Jail rule violations or violations of the law.
- An inmate may be released for Huber if granted Huber by the Judge and if they meet the criteria set by the Sheriff.
- All inmates who are applying for Huber release must submit a completed Huber Release Application and agree to and sign the Rules and Regulations of Huber Law Prisoners.
- Inmates must pay all required Huber fees.
- Inmates must provide drivers' license information, vehicle registration and proof of insurance for themselves, their vehicle and/or any other drivers or vehicles that will be used for transportation to or from work or during work.
- Any overtime or hours worked outside normally scheduled work hours must be approved by Jail staff. A written explanation from the inmate's employer or supervisor is required.
- The Jail staff must be notified and approval must be given any time a Huber inmate needs to leave their place of employment (i.e. employer errands, gas stations, hospitals, etc.). This includes Huber inmates released for Child/Family Care.
- Inmates may be released on EMP if they meet the criteria set by the Sheriff.
- Inmates applying for EMP must complete an EMP Application and are required to agree to and sign all required rules and regulations.
- A down payment for EMP equipment is required.

- Inmates who are sentenced with Huber privileges may be eligible for the inmate work program.
- Acceptance into the inmate work program is at the discretion of the Sheriff and Jail Administrator.
- The inmate work program operates on an as needed basis. Work may be seasonal, etc.
- The inmate work program is not a paid work program. Work is done to earn time off a sentence at an hour for an hour rate.
- Inmates who wish to participate must submit a written request to the Jail Administrator.

- The normal release time for sentenced inmates is 10:00 a.m. This is subject to change based upon staff availability, Huber work scheduled, probation instructions, etc.
- If an inmate has a remaining balance in their Trust Account and no Jail debt is owed, a check will be issued for the amount remaining in the account and mailed to the inmate's last known address.
- Inmates will be required to sign a Property Receipt at the time of their release.
- Inmates must take all their property with them at the time of their release. Inmates may not give or leave behind any property or canteen items for other inmates to use.
- If any property is not taken by the inmate at the time of release, a notification will be sent to the inmate's last known address advising that they have 5 days from the date they receive the notice to pick up their property or it will be disposed of.

- All subjects being admitted to the Price County Jail will submit to a complete pat down and search of their person and property.
- All subjects shall remain seated on the bench in the booking area unless otherwise directed by the booking officer.
- Handcuffs will be removed from cooperative subjects only. Handcuffs will be reapplied to uncooperative or disorderly subjects.
- A booking, including identifying information, a medical and mental health questionnaire, photographs and fingerprints, must be completed before an inmate is released.
- If an inmate becomes uncooperative, combative or disorderly, the booking will be suspended and the inmate placed in a holding cell until further determination.
- A phone call will be given upon completion of booking as time allows and as long as no restrictions on phone calls have been placed.
- All inmates to be housed in the Jail will be placed in a holding cell for a maximum of 24 hours. Inmates will be required to remove all jewelry, accessories and street clothing at this time and will be given a jail uniform.
- All inmates will be given a Preliminary Breath Test (PBT) during the booking process. Inmates will not be moved to general population until they are sober.

- Inmates will be housed in a holding cell for up to 24 hours for observation as space permits.
- A minimum amount of property will be issued at this time. Extra linen and hygiene items will be issued once an inmate is placed in general population.
- Inmates are not to cover their head with clothing or linens as officers must be able to clearly monitor every inmate.
- Inmates may not knock on the cell door unless it is an emergency.
- Meal dishes, utensils, bags and uneaten food must be placed on the food port ledge to be removed by staff. Inmates are prohibited from keeping any of these items.

- Inmates will be notified of bail/bond status at the time of booking or after court.
- Inmates will be given the opportunity to make a phone call for bond.
- The Price County Sheriff's Office will accept credit cards or exact cash only. Credit card payments are subject to a service fee.
- Bond payments may be made at the Clerk of Circuit Court during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Acceptable payment methods are cash, cashier's check, credit card and money order.
- Other county and state bail/bond methods are determined by the agency of bond origin. The Price County Jail will make every attempt to facilitate bond payment with other agencies.

- All inmates to be housed in the Price County Jail will be classified during their first 24 hours of incarceration.
- The Price County Jail classification system has three tiers; Maximum, Medium and Minimum Security.
- Classification results are based upon many factors, including current offenses, past criminal convictions and institutional behavior.
- An inmate may be reclassified up or down a level during their incarceration based on judicial or behavioral changes.

- Inmates sentenced to the County Jail are entitled to a reduction of sentence of one-fourth for good behavior if sentenced to at least four days. This does not apply to persons serving as a condition of probation, unless good time is specifically ordered by the sentencing judge or if the sentence is a mandatory minimum (i.e. OWI repeat offenders who are sentenced with probation). Length of jail term can be amended by the court on the recommendation of the probation officer.
- Inmates are not entitled to good time if serving a sentence on a Commitment Order or Child Support sentence.
- Violations of law or any regulation of the Jail may deprive the inmate of two days good time for each violation.

- Cell assignments will not be changed without permission from staff.
- Beds and cots must be made from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Allowances will be made for Huber inmates working late shifts.
- Huber inmates must clean their area and make their bed prior to leaving for work each day.
- Inmates will be provided with cleaning materials daily. Tables used for common use and meals shall be sanitized between each meal.
- Each and every inmate is responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of their cell and all common areas. Failure to clean these areas will result in disciplinary action or reclassification.
- Mattresses, pillows, linens and blankets must remain on the bed at all times.
- Inmates will not cover viewing ports or otherwise obstruct a Jail Officer's view into any individual cell or into cell blocks.
- Inmates will not drape blankets, towels or clothing from their bed or cell bars.
- Pictures, papers and/or other articles may not be placed or affixed on the walls, windows, cell bars or lights of individual cells or cell blocks.
- Sitting or standing on tables is prohibited.
- Standing or climbing on bars is prohibited.
- Intentional plugging of sinks or toilets is prohibited. Garbage is to be disposed of properly and not flushed down the toilet.
- Standing on bunks is prohibited.
- Inmates must keep all personal property, Jail issued property and Library materials in their drawer or Jail issued bin.
- Shelves and hooks in day rooms are to be used for linen storage only.
- Drawing or graffiti of any kind on walls, bunks or tables is prohibited.
- No inmate is allowed inside of an individual cell or on the bunk of another inmate for any reason.
- All inmates must remain in their beds after lights out or lockdown. The only time an inmate may be out of their bed during these times is to use the bathroom.
- All inmates will remain silent during lights out or lockdown.
- Any maintenance issues with cell electrical fixtures, televisions, telephones or plumbing should be promptly reported to staff.
- Each inmate is allowed only one mattress and one pillow unless otherwise authorized by medical staff.

- Inmates will return to their cells in an orderly fashion when they are notified of lockdown.
- Inmates may be placed in lockdown status at any time for safety, security or maintenance reasons.
- The Price County Jail is equipped with an audio and video monitoring system used for the safety and security of inmates and staff.
- The Price County Jail has a safety plan in place for fires and natural disasters.
- Each cell block is equipped with an intercom button to notify staff of an emergency.
- Lockdown will occur at 11:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and at 1:00 a.m. on Friday, Saturday and holidays.

- Inmates must follow directions given by the escort officer.
- All inmates will be handcuffed and shackled when being escorted to court proceedings or transported outside of the facility.
- All inmates must be in full uniform during any movement.

- Meals will be served at these approximate times:

- Inmates are required to shower at least once every other day.
- Fingernails and toenails shall be kept trimmed at an appropriate safe length.
- Showers in dorm-style cell blocks are inmate operable and may be used from 5:00 a.m. until lights out; excluding meal times and medication pass.
- Showers in all other cell blocks will be turned on between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. daily.
- Razors, nail clippers and beard trimmers will be handed out upon request and must be turned back in at the end of shower time.
- Inmates may purchase hygiene items from canteen.
- Indigent inmates may fill out an Indigent Item Request form to receive necessary hygiene items.
- Inmates who have sufficient funds may submit a request for a professional haircut.

- All inmates will be issued the following items at the time of booking:
- One uniform top
- One uniform bottom
- One white t-shirt
- One pair of white socks
- One pair of white underwear
- One white sports bra (females)
- One pair of sandals
- One blanket
- When an inmate is moved to general population, they will receive the following in addition to the above items:
- One bottom sheet
- One top sheet
- One pillow case
- Two towels
- One washcloth
- Sweatshirts will be given out in low temperature months.
- All inmates are allowed to have no more than one blanket, two towels, one washcloth, one bottom sheet, one top sheet, one pillow case, one uniform top, one uniform bottom, one t-shirt, one pair of underwear, one pair of socks, one pair of shoes and one sweatshirt at a time.
- All inmates are required to be fully clothed in the jail uniform including shoes when out of their beds.
- Blankets for inmates will be laundered once monthly as follows:
- Two-man and Four-manFirst Wednesday of each month
- Six-man dormSecond Wednesday of each month
- Five-man dormThird Wednesday of each month
- Three-man and Lower Two-manFourth Wednesday of each month
- Bed sheets and pillow cases will be laundered each Saturday.
- Uniforms will be laundered on Monday and Friday.
- Towels, washcloths, underclothing, t-shirts and socks will be laundered on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.
- Exchange of jail clothing and linens is required. Inmates will be responsible for turning in their laundry at the designated times. Dirty laundry items should not be turned in with knots, rolled up cuffs or sleeves, socks rolled in a ball, etc.
- All unauthorized clothing is subject to confiscation and disposal by Jail staff.

A complete assessment of medical, mental health and drug/alcohol information will be obtained during each inmate's initial booking.
Medical Services
- Medical services for Price County inmates are provided exclusively by Correctional Healthcare Companies (CHC).
- Inmates may request an appointment with the Jail nurse or doctor. Inmates will be charged $5 per nurse visit and $10 per doctor visit.
- In case of an emergency medical problem, contact the on duty Jail Officer.
- If an inmate believes he/she is in need of non-emergency health care, he/she must complete a Request Form to see the nurse or doctor. A brief description of the medical issue and/or any symptoms should be included on the back of the Request Form.
- All medications, medical treatments and emergency dental care shall be paid by the individual inmate, unless declared indigent. Payments will be deducted from the inmate's Trust Account.
- Price County reserves the right to pursue the reimbursement of medical and dental bills incurred by indigent inmates while incarcerated in the Price County Jail per Wisconsin State Statutes 302.38 and 302.372(5).
Medications
- Prescription medication will be delivered by staff at designated times. Inmates must take their medication with water. Inmates will be required to show the Officer that they have ingested the medication appropriately, i.e. opening mouth, lifting tongue, showing empty hand, etc.
- Inmates, or inmate's family, are encouraged to supply the inmate's prescription medication. Prescriptions must be current and the medication must be in its original prescription container
- CHC has an approved medication list. If an inmate's medication is not on this list, they may not be able to take it while incarcerated.
- Prescription medications will be provided by order of a CHC medical professional and packaged by a designated pharmacy.
- Request Slips for "as needed" prescription medication may be turned in at any time.
OTC Medications
- Inmates may request OTC acetaminophen (Tylenol) or antacid tablets (Tums) up to three times weekly. The fee for this will be collected from an inmate's Trust Account.
- Any other OTC medication request, i.e. ibuprofen, Aleve, Milk of Magnesia, must be submitted to the Jail nurse.
Mental Health
- All medications for mental health issues must be approved by the Jail medical staff.
- Counseling appointments for mental health issues must be pre-approved by the Jail Administrator.
- Weekly meetings for Alcoholics Anonymous are available for Minimum and Medium Security inmates. AA guidebooks are available as a Library item for all inmates.
Dental
- The Jail medical staff provides care for emergency dental issues.
- All requests for dental care should be submitted to the Jail medical staff.
- Inmates with Huber privileges may make dental appointments with their regular dentist if approved by the Jail medical staff and the Jail Administrator.

- The Price County Jail will comply with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA). PREA is a Federal law established to address the elimination and prevention of sexual assault and rape in correctional systems.
- Any inmate in the Price County Jail who believes they have been sexually assaulted or harassed or has knowledge of such acts, shall report this violation in the following manner:
- The inmate shall report the violation to any Officer or other staff member directly.
- In case of sexual assault, the inmate will be instructed not to shower or wash until examined by medical staff.
- If the inmate is not comfortable with this reporting option, they may request a complaint form from any Officer, make their complaint, and have it sealed and sent directly to the Jail Administrator for review.
- The inmate will be asked to provide a written account of the incident listing any facts the inmate wants to be considered.
- False reports or allegations may result in discipline and potential prosecution.
- Upon receiving a report of alleged sexual misconduct, the Jail Administrator will initiate the necessary investigation and notify the appropriate parties as required.

- Request forms are located in all general population cell blocks.
- Request forms will be picked up at meal times and at lockdown.
- Request forms for meetings and Library visits must be submitted prior to the event start time.
- Hygiene items (razors, nail clippers, trimmers) will be handed out during morning showers.
- Library visits will be conducted in the evenings as time allows.
- Phone card requests will be accepted on Sunday and Wednesday. Orders will be filled on Monday and Thursday.
- Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
- Clergy visits will be held on Wednesday afternoons.
- Requests to see the nurse must include a written description of the medical issue.
- Any other request can be addressed using the "Other" box on the bottom of the Request form.
- Request forms will not be altered for another purpose or used for letter writing, game pieces, scratch paper, etc.

- All inmates will be provided with a basic hygiene starter pack upon admission to general population.
- Inmates who are indigent and are not able to purchase necessary hygiene items or writing materials through canteen may use an Indigent Item Request form to receive basic hygiene items and writing materials.
- A debt for these items will be placed on the inmate's Trust Account.
- The following hygiene items are available through indigent request.
- Toothbrush
- Soap
- Deodorant
- Shampoo
- Toothpaste
- Comb
- Hair Band
- Ear Plugs
- All empty or used item containers must be returned to Jail staff before new orders will be filled.
- Inmates may also request up to eight stamped envelopes and two writing pads a month. Pen inserts are also available.
- Used pens and notepads must be returned to Jail staff before new orders will be filled.
- There will be no transfer of indigent items between inmates.
- Indigent orders are handed out daily at breakfast. All requests must be submitted by lockdown the previous night to be filled.
- Prices for indigent items are subject to change.

- All personal items and property an inmate arrives at the facility with will be secured at the time of intake.
- All money will be deposited in the inmate's Trust Account.
- All medications will be submitted to the Jail medical staff and locked in a secure medication storage area.
- All items of clothing needed for Huber work release must be approved by Jail staff.
- Items other than necessary items and clothing needed for Huber work release must be pre-approved by Jail staff before it is accepted into an inmate's property.
- Inmates may release property to another person by submitting a Property Release form. The party to whom the property is released must show photo identification to receive the property.
- Property belonging to inmates who have been released from the Jail will be retained for five days after written notification has been made to the inmate's last known address. Any property left after five days will be disposed of.

- All inmate funds will be placed in an Inmate Trust Account.
- An inmate's Trust Account is subject to Huber, Electronic Monitoring Program (EMP), and housing fees, indigent item costs and any medical or dental billings. Every effort will be made to collect an inmate's balance owed, including use of a collection agency and tax intercept.
- If inmates wish to use Trust Account funds to pay fines, child support obligations or other outside bills, an Account Disbursement form must be submitted.
- Inmates with available funds may purchase items specified on the Canteen Order form.

- All incoming and outgoing mail with stamped envelopes will be processed through the United States Postal Service. Mail will be processed and delivered Monday through Friday excluding holidays.
- Letters meant for the Price County Sheriff's Office staff, Clerk of Circuit Court, District Attorney, Child Support Agency, Probation & Parole, Health & Human Services or Circuit Court Judge may be sent without postage via interoffice mail.
- All incoming and outgoing mail must have the sender's and recipient's full name and address. Mail received without this information is subject to non-delivery.
- All outgoing mail must show the inmate's name, be marked Price County Jail, and list the Jail's return address, PO Box B, Phillips, WI 54555.
- Outgoing mail will be picked up daily at meal times and lights out.
- All outgoing mail will remain unsealed with the exception of correspondence with an attorney or court official.
- All incoming and outgoing mail is subject to inspection.
- Any violation of Jail rules discovered through mail inspection will be enforced.
- Mail from attorneys, court officials, judges and public officials may be opened and inspected for contraband in the presence of the inmate.
- All money received through the mail will be deposited in the inmate's Trust Account.
- No mail will be sent out that contains a request it be forwarded to another person or address.
- All inmate's must use their own envelopes to send mail. Inmates may not share envelopes, even if they are writing to the same individual.
- Written correspondence between inmates in this facility is prohibited. This includes those Price County inmate's located in other facilities for housing purposes. The only exception is correspondence between husband and wife or other immediate family members after approval from the Sheriff. This mail will be handled the same as all other outgoing or incoming mail.
- Inmates may not correspond with each other by use of a third party.
- Inmates are allowed to keep a small amount of mail in their bunk drawer or Jail issued bin. Any excess mail will be placed in the inmate's property bin.
- All photographs must be sent through the mail. Subjects must be fully clothed. Polaroid pictures are not permitted.
- Mail containing contraband, items against Jail rules, language threatening extortion, blackmail, harassment, escape or other activity violating laws or Jail security will not be delivered.
